Kensington BIA has partnered with the Kensington Legion on a banner project to highlight veterans with a connection to Calgary

Kensington BIA has partnered with Kensington Legion 264 on a memorial banner project honouring veterans with a connection to Calgary. The banners are displayed on light poles along Kensington Road, Kensington Crescent and 10th Street NW through Remembrance Day.

Now in its second year, the program has grown considerably, with far more banners on display than in 2025. Each banner recognizes someone who served in the Canadian Armed Forces, the Commonwealth or its wartime allies, the RCMP, or as a Peace Officer on Special Duty.

Businesses throughout Kensington are taking part by displaying a poster with a QR code that links directly to the Legion’s online Memorial Banner Gallery, where visitors can view the banners and read about the veterans and service members being honoured.

Visit the Memorial Banners page on the Kensington Legion website to browse the gallery or learn about sponsoring a banner.
